Video Description
I have a smartphone with LSPosed Framework installed on it and today Ill be showing you how to remove an application update from appearing in the Google Play Store.
Disabling automatic updates is built into the Google Play Store application and we can find this by going to the app or game page.
Tapping the 3-dot menu icon.
And then disabling the Auto Update feature by removing the checkmark.
The main downside to this approach is that when this has been done the app or game will remain in your update list.
Which can be annoying since tapping on the Update All button will then bring up a prompt that asks you if you want to manually approve the update for that particular application.
So today I want to show you an LSPosed Module that essentially hides an application or game from the Google Play Store.
We can find this module by opening up the LSPosed Manager application and then tapping the Repository tab down here at the bottom left.
Now we need to search for the word Applist all one word and it should be the only one left.
So lets select this module.
Then tap on the Releases section.
And tap the Assets button.
We just have to tap this APK file and then follow through with the installation of the app.
Now youre going to need to go into the Modules tab of the LSPosed Manager application.
Tap on the Hide My Applist module.
And enable it via the toggle here.
Then youll need to reboot your device so the module is activated properly.
Once the module has been installed and activated you should see the new app icon in your home screen or your app drawer.
Lets open it up and then tap on App Manage.
From here we want to find the Google Play Store application.
You may need to tap the 3-dot menu icon at the top right to enable the Show System Apps option before you can see it.
Once you find the Play Store tap it and then toggle the Enable Hide option on.
Now lets create a template for the Hide My Apps module to use.
We do that by going back to the main page here.
Tap on Template Manage.
And then create a new Blacklist Template.
Well name this template Block Updates but it can be named anything you want.
This template needs to be configured to work with the Google Play Store that we just enabled so lets edit the list of apps this template will be applied to.
And choose the Google Play Store.
Now we can tap the edit list button for the apps we want to be invisible to the Google Play Store
If we check the updates section of the Google Play Store app we can see Nova Launcher and Google Maps are among the apps waiting to be updated
So lets go back to this template and add both of these for this test
Once the template has been set up its probably a good idea to go back to the App Manage section.
Choose the Google Play Store.
And then make sure it is using the template that we just setup.
The way to trigger the Google Play Store to actually refresh based on this newly created list can be tricky.
I have seen some people say a simple reboot should be enough.
But in my testing this worked sometimes but didnt work other times.
I have found deleting the cache and storage for the Google Play Store is ideal before rebooting.
We can do this by long-pressing the Google Play Store application
Choosing the Storage option.
And then Clearing both the Cache and the Data.
Lets reboot your smartphone or tablet to complete this setup.
Remember we had 5 apps waiting to be updated before and we added two apps to our block list.
So the Play Store shouldnt even be able to see that we have these two apps installed.
Therefore there wouldnt be any updates for them.
