About the speaker A full autobiography is available here: About the talk On the 5th September 2011 aged 23 Alexandra Elbakyan created a PHP script that downloaded articles for free to make them open access to all.
That script came to be known as Sci-Hub the first pirate website in the world to provide mass and public access to tens of millions of research papers more info here.
Now in its 10th year Sci-Hub has become one of if not the - most popular means to access academic literature hidden behind a paywall.
Sci-Hubs creator will join us to talk about the origin of Sci-Hub where it is now and what the future holds.
