From there well drive north to the hamlet of Lund known as the Gateway to Desolation Sound and the Shellfish Capital of the Sunshine Coast.
Lund is also a departure point for those wishing to visit the sandy beaches of Savary Island.
Well be staying at the Finn Bay Farm Retreat which is absolutely fantastic if you are looking for a quiet cozy getaway.
Our host Paul was so lovely and shared fresh vegetables from the farm garden. Well do a reconnaissance trip in Lund to determine what our big adventure for the weekend will be as there are so many activities to choose from! Clamming Paddle-boarding Swimming Scuba diving boating art tours...
We decide on a lofty plan to hike the Sunshine Coast Trail from Sarah Point back to our cabin near Lund.
Just a wee 23 km hike right off the couch! Rather than drive along a logging road to get to the Sarah Point trailhead we decide to try something different and hire a boat so that we can admire the incredible coastline.
Amazing experience with Finn Bay Marine Group which was just a short walk from Blue Jay Cottage. Our backcountry hiking experience was so fabulous.
Very well maintained trails and huts.
