Weekly cleaning is recommended to keep your Honeywell Designer Series Cool Mist Humidifier HUL430 running efficiently.
Before cleaning turn off and unplug the humidifier.
All maintenance should be done in the kitchen or bathroom on a waterresistant surface near a faucet.
Empty the water tank and reservoir and follow these separate steps for descaling and disinfecting.
Both steps are important and should be followed weekly.
To descale the unit pour two cups of white vinegar in the water tank and replace the cap.
Gently swish the vinegar to make sure the vinegar wets the entire inside of the tank.
Place the tank in the housing so the vinegar can drain into the reservoir and loosen mineral buildup.
Soak for twenty minutes.
After soaking empty vinegar from the water tank
and use a soft cloth to gently wipe inside the nebulizer and reservoir area to remove loosened minerals.
Use caution when wiping the nebulizer to avoid damage
Pour vinegar from the reservoir into the sink.
Be sure to pour out of the back of the unit to avoid leaking into the control panel.
Rinse the tank and reservoir with water until the smell of vinegar is gone.
Next for disinfecting wear gloves and use caution when handling bleach.
Add one teaspoon of bleach to one gallon of water.
Pour the solution into the water tank and replace the cap.
Place the tank in the housing to let the solution drain into the reservoir and soak for twenty minutes.
After soaking empty the bleach solution from the water tank.
Pour the solution from the reservoir into the sink.
Be sure to pour out of the back of the unit to avoid leaking into the control panel.
Rinse the tank and reservoir with water until the smell of bleach is gone.
To clean the Essential Oil Tray gently wipe residue from the tray.
To reassemble secure the cap back on the water tank and place the water tank in the housing.
Your humidifier is now clean.
