Long story. On Switch and other ports all it takes is to select Puyo Pop 2 and Quick Drop On in the Versus Room Settings screen. However on PC the settings do nothing if its a Puyo vs Tetris game.
The settings are applied only to Puyo vs Puyo. Fug Ebin Meme reverse engineered this and from what Ive understood the game simply doesnt care about setting the Puyo ruleset if its a Puyo vs Tetris game likely because it checks if theres a Tetris player in existence and considers it a Tetris game. What me and Doremy did here was force the Puyo ruleset to 2 Pop and Quick Drop enabled via memory hacking.
