I Dont Want to Say Goodbye from PMD Explorers of Sky

A classic and one of my favorite games.
The only story-driven games in the series and also pretty good music.
Thanks to it being a collab and not a main-line series the creators could do a lot more with them. Originally when one thinks of PMD music they immediately go to the Primal Dialga theme: Its very satisfying as the main theme is used as a motif throughout the soundtrack and it culminates in the last boss battle not including the many extras.
A long time ago I tried to learn it on piano and got pretty far before giving up I was excited to try learning it again but I realized it just doesnt translate to piano very well.
Its not that its too hard its just that there is no way to represent enough lines for it to be interesting.
Not having percussion also really hurts.
There are many attempts at learning it but nobody can get it up to speed with the accuracy or energy needed.
Perhaps if I split up the lines and break out my recorder... Thats why I ended up going with the next most popular track.
This plays during the tragic scene of your departure from the Pokemon World.
You had kept your looming disappearance a secret from your partner because you didnt want to discourage them from fighting until the end despite the consequences.

It captures the feeling that you will save the world even when it means self-sacrifice.
The transcription I went with is good although it doesnt quite catch that driving force.
As usual I chose to play it at original tempo instead of the unusually slow markings given.
This piece had a surprisingly steep learning curve.
The left hand arpeggios are constantly shifting even when they serve the same functional chord.
Then the climax involves a lot of very awkward jumps.
It was all I could do to just hope I could play it all well in one take.
