Eternal Champions CD SegaCD - play as Thanatos

This is a play-through of Enter Contest mode using Thanatos in the Sega CDMega-CD game Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side.
Read on below for more information... Thanatos is a hidden character in the game.
He is an unlockable playable character. THANATOS STORY BIO He was originally the Greek God of Death and lived with Hypnos of Sleep his twin brother in the Underworld.
As a gatherer of souls he was attending to his tasks as usual until in 1692 A.D.
he came across a force that was neither good nor evil.
This force was so powerful that Thanatos was no match for and as a result the force transformed him into a mortal named Vespian a person that was thought to be a warlock.
Therefore this person was to be slain during the witch hunts of Salem. Since then the force took over the role of Thanatos and has been performing his duties as the God of Death.
However this force also changed the rules of death and took lives that are not meant to be taken. ABOUT THANATOS As a Grim Reaper type character he does the job very well in EC2 with plenty of fitting moves for his design.
He is basically a semi-clone of Xavier with edited sprites of him with moves and some animations which are unique to himself of course...
because most of his special moves are different to Xaviers he plays very differently. Like Blast Thanatos is a very good character to use against the CPU because some of his special moves can get them easily...
providing that you know when and how to use these moves of course. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ---- He stage background is the same as Xaviers. ---- The game can also be known as Eternal Champions 2. ---- The developers had proposed a trilogy of the series in which the 3rd game never happened. ---- It is the only official Sega Mega-CD game to use a 256 color palette system. ABOUT ETERNAL CHAMPIONS CD This is the sequel to the original Mega Drive game Eternal Champions.
The game features new characters both regular and hidden and a new end boss.
It introduces three new methods of finishing moves and comes with an all-new arranged soundtrack. You could call this game series a mix of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat...
it has a gameplay system similar to SF2 and aesthetically gory finishing moves like in MK.
Its kind of like a jack of all trades master of none as it isnt as good as SF2CE or Mortal Kombat II at the time.
Despite that I do think that this is a very underrated game...
the characters are drawn coloured and animated very well for the Mega Drive and Mega-CDs standards and some of the finishing moves are quite impressive.
