JEN - Picture My Life Got a coffee stain On the corner of the canvas A map of yesterday And Im keeping it I guess Little crooked frame But I kinda like it that way Half-finished thoughts Drying in the fading light All my almosts Hanging like a hallway show Im painting my life in a painting Every wrong line Im still tracing All the spills All the smears Turn to gold through the years Im painting my life in a painting And Im learning as Im changing If its messy Let it stay Its my picture anyway Tiny blue house In the back of the background Dust on the stereo Dipped in Sunday afternoon Friends in bright strokes Laughing in the margins Little inside jokes Tucked behind the boldest hues I used to hide the empty space Cover every blank with white Now I leave a little grace Room for one more shade of light Im painting my life in a painting Every wrong line Im still tracing All the spills All the smears Turn to gold through the years Im painting my life in a painting And Im learning as Im changing If its messy Let it stay Its my picture anyway Its my picture anyway...
