Established in 1885 as Koreas first institution to practice and teach western medicine Severance Hospital has not only witnessed the development of western medicine in Korea but was also first to introduce and lead many of those developments.
It opened new hospital building with 1000 beds in 2005 and was first accredited in Korea by Joint Commission International in 2007.
With more than 2076 beds in total the latest state-of-the-art equipment such as Robotic Surgery iMRI and Tomortherapy an advanced IT infrastructure and a world-class medical team Severance Hospital is making great strides to become East Asias hub Health System.
