Darlingtonia californica California pitcher-plant

Found in boggy areas with running water this carnivorous plant traps insects that once digested provide vital nutrients for the plants survival. Special thanks to Robert Hotaling Chris McCarron Barry Rice John Stebbins and the UC Botanical Garden. The Plumas National Forest is located in the northern Sierra Nevada Mountains.
