Wind-driven thermal pumping could transform wind farms to store and recover energy as needed.

This animation shows how Professor Seamus Garveys concept for WIND-TP wind-driven thermal pumping would let specially engineered wind turbines store energy directly when electricity demand is low and recover energy from storage when demand is high.
The technology should have a greater turnaround efficiency more than 85 percent than using conventional wind turbines with batteries or other existing types of grid-scale storage.
