We know that with the increase of temperature vapour pressure increases and ultimately reaches to Atmospheric pressure or external pressure at this stage boiling starts. Question: 1.
Why there is no change in temperature during boiling? OR 2.
Why the temperature of the boiling liquid remains constant? OR 3.
Why is the temperature constant during a phase change? Answer: At boiling temperature remains constant although heat is continuously supplied. Remember that before boiling point heat is supplied is partly use to increase P.E partly used to increase the K.E. But at the boiling point all the heat supplied to increase P.E K.E remains constant so the temperature remains constant.
