Amazonia a double projection by the artists Lucy Jorge Orta draws the viewer into the Amazon rainforest through stunning imagery and audio recorded during their 2009 expedition.
We are guided into the rain forest by the beautiful voice of Gaia and as the cloud forest dissipates an unusual conversation between a man and a woman prompts us to reflect on the fragile balance between man and his natural environment.
My centre is everywhere -
Everything huge and hung together.
As the poetic story unfolds the viewer travels along the Amazon basin from its glacial sources at 4800 metres in the Andes passing through the grassland above the tree line down through the elfin forest and mountain cloud forest descending several thousand metres to the Amazon rainforest.The journey closes with a reflection on how we can shape the future.

The film was commissioned by the contemporary program at the Natural History Museum London for a solo exhibition of the work by the artists in 2010.
The poetry was composed for the film by eco-poet Mario Petrucci.
