No. of fake oil sellers down in H1

The Ministry of Knowledge Economy clamped down on 181 shops for selling fake oil in the first half of this year.
The figure dropped by 30 percent from the same period in 2011 when 264 shops were caught for selling unauthorized products.
The decrease comes after the government declared an all-out war on fake gasoline last year blocking illegal sales channels of chemical mixtures used to make fake gasoline.
As a matter of fact sales of chemical mixtures dropped 47 percent from October 2011 to this past June compared to the same period from the previous year.
The ministry reported that for the cited period sales of gasoline increased by 4.2 percent.
Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik visited the Korea Institute of Petroleum Management on August 1 to call on the organization to step up its efforts to crack down on fake gasoline sellers to drive out illegal vendors. 가짜석유 적발실적 30 감소 올 상반기 가짜석유 적발실적이 지난해 같은 기간 대비 30 이상 감소한 것으로 나타났습니다.
지식경제부는 지난해 상반기 가짜석유 적발 업소 수는 264개였는데 올 상반기에는 181개로 30 이상 줄어들었다고 밝혔습니다. 이는 정부가 가짜석유의 주원료인 용제의 불법유통을 차단하는데 중점을 두고 단속을 실시한 결과로 보입니다.
실제로 지난해 10월부터 올해 6월까지 용제의 판매량은 지난해 같은 기간보다 47감소했고 휘발유 판매량은 4.2증가한 것으로 조사됐습니다.
지난 1일 한국석유관리원을 방문한 김황식 국무총리는 가짜석유를 제조유통하다 단속될 경우 강력한 처벌을 통해 올해를 가짜석유 제로화의 해로 만드는데 노력해 달라고 당부했습니다.
