In this tutorial video we are going to make a simple mashup.
By simple I mean that 1 the pieces we are combining have already been prepared for you in the demo mod and 2 we are not moving anything around on the body or changing the body type so we will not be doing any weight painting.
Those things will be covered in a later video!
I will be showing how to combine the pieces into a new NIF checking and changing partitions to match the plugin assuming you already know whats in the plugin zapping out deleting hidden vertices and then using the inflate and deflate tools to make the pieces fit nicely together.
We will be doing this separately for both the size 0 and size 1 NIFs although I acknowledge that you can make just one size and use a slider or BodySlide to create the other size.
We will tackle making and using sliders in later videos.
One word of warning about this particular mashup.
Some of the blocks for the belt mesh used in the demo mod got corrupted somehow - and so they have to be removed or the final outfit will crash Skyrim.
I will be showing you how to fix that and a texture problem as part of the NifSkope step in this video.
That step is NOT optional! If you dont make the required fixes you will have problems in the game.
So please be sure to complete Step 10!
This video is intended for beginners although I am assuming you have either watched the tutorials up to this point or already have a basic understanding of how to use Outfit Studio.
I have sped up parts of the video substantially to manage the length hopefully you are still able to see and follow along with the steps.
If you have any issues please leave a comment!
Also note that this is a start-to-finish tutorial that includes testing the outfit in the game so it is a long video.
You can work on this project in multiple sittings taking breaks in-between if you prefer.
Use the Timestamps or Video Chapters to jump to sections as needed.
All the meshes are included in the companion mod for this tutorial series called Simply for Practice on the Nexus and you can download install that mod to follow along if you want.
