All New 2015 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Sliver Exterior


Mercedes long awaited Porsche 911 and Jaguar F-Type fighter has finally being revealed the 2015 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT after several teasers.
Mercedes engineers have tested this sports car for a long 32 months for road tests wearing lots of camouflage sheets.
It is worth a wait for all the while and this car is gorgeous and beautiful.
This beauty will make its international debut at next months Paris Motor Show. On the outside the AMG GT features a prominent grille large air intakes and oversized LED headlight on the front fascia.
Moving to the back there is a rakish windscreen frameless doors and ventilated front fenders.
In addition there is a distinctively sloped roofline which unfortunately being marred by a thick outline on the rear quarter windows.
The AMG GT also features a power deployable rear spolier just like the SLS AMG and slender rear lights with sequential turn indicators using 18 individual LED lights on each side.
The AMG GT wears 19-inch wheels as standard while the AMG GT S features 19 or 20-inch alloy rims. Inside the AMG GT boasts a sporty and luxurious design.
The cabin features a flat bottomed steering wheel wide center console that ramps up to four circular air vents and an infotainment system with either 7 or 8.4-inch display.
The stylish sports car features leatherfabric sport seats and silver chrome matte carbon fiber high-gloss carbon fiber black diamond or matte silver fiberglass trim.
Lastly the AMG GT also has a roof-mounted control panel which houses buttons for the seat heaters hazards lights and rear wing. Now while the aluminium architecture is pretty similar to the new AMG GT and the SLS AMG dont be confused that the AMG GT is a direct replacement of the SLS AMG despite the latter has met its end of production.
The company from Affalterbach company has moved its focus to the smaller lighter as well as a more affordable GT and GT S sports car.
The base AMG GT has a curb weight of 1540 kg. The AMG GT is being co-developed by the folks of AMG and it is not a Mercedes tuned for more madness. The biggest news is what powers the new AMG GT.
Unlike the SLS AMG using the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine this model uses the companys brand new 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 codenamed M178 built off the same breath as the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo powerhouse as the A 45 AMG CLA 45 AMG and the GLA 45 AMG is located under the long bonnets of the GT and the GT S variants. The base GT variant produces 462 hp 339 kW and 600 Nm of torque while completing the sprint from 0-100 kmh in 4.0 seconds and reaches its limited top speed of 304 kmh. The range topping GT S gets extra goodies on top of what is available in the AMG GT.
It uses the same engine from the AMG GT but has been tuned to 510 hp 375 kW at 6250rpm and 650 Nm of torque between 1750rpm and 4750rpm.
There is an 81 hp 60 kW reduction but torque figures matches the outgoing SLS AMG with the large 6.2-liter V8 engine. In terms of performance figures 0-100 kmh can be done in 3.8 seconds before reaching its limited top speed of 310 kmh.
Both the AMG GT and GT S are connected to a seven-speed dual clutch automatic AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT-7 gearbox while all its power is sent to the rear wheels. The GT S gains the unique electronically-controlled rear differential GT will get mechanical rear-axle locking diffs AMG RIDE CONTROL adaptive suspension beefier brakes in the front an AMG performance exhaust system which lets you vary the engine note and an AMG DYNAMIC SELECT RACE drive mode with a manual transmission mode this above the regular three driving modes Comfort Sport and Sport plus on the base GT. As an option the range topping AMG GT S will be offered with the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS feature as it allows to reduce unwanted vibrations and rolling motion of the entire drivetrain including the transaxle transmission.
If comfort suits your choice softer damping of the drivetrain is applied but when the sportier drive mode is selected it will be much stiffer than the comfort mode. The AMG GT features internally ventilated and perforated brake discs that measure 360mm all around while the AMG GT S adopts larger 390mm front discs and red brake calipers.
Carbon ceramic brake is fitted as an option as it measures 402mm in front and 360mm at the rear. According to Jochen Hermann Head of Overall Vehicle Engineering AMG he says that The combination of selectively variable mounts and a transaxle drivetrain is unique.
