South OTIS Series 5 211 Hydraulic Elevator-Freeport Village Station Freeport Maine

Happy Easter everyone! Here we have an OTIS Series 5 that seems to whisk by five floors like a GEN2.
Now I will have to disappoint you by saying this is yet another Series 5 hydro and it is still going normal speed 100FPM. Ok so how does a 100FPM elevator whisk by five floors in the about the same amount of time it takes for it to get to three floors assuming the floor height is average.
Thats because the amount of floors this elevator travels is about three floors! The M levels you see are half stops. The elevator serves two underground parking levels and the plaza.
Halfway in between the parking levels are the M levels.
Believe it or not this elevator serves two floors of a historical building on site! Rather than installing another elevator in a small building the parking garage elevator here also doubles as that buildings elevator. The building this elevator serves is the Mallet building the square shaped brick building you see in the video.
From what I have read on the Freeport Historical Societys site the building was originally built in the late 1800s as part of a huge factory complex for the E.B Mallet Co a very important part of Freeport.
Today the Freeport Village Station complex stands where the factory was with this building remaining.
Interesting how they built the mall around this building if you asked me more than likely the rest of the factory was demolished long before this was built in 2009.
