Did you know that hasing does not secure data on blockchain? It is a typical misunderstanding about this method of application of blockchain.
When you publish a hash sum of your data on blockchain you secure only this hash sum not the data itself.
So if hash is a digital fingerprint of data then securing it does not make sense when your finger is cut off.
Hashing on blockchain helps only to check data authenticity. Hashing is a kind of anchoring.Though anchoring is broader as it means publishing any kind of metadata.
